Microchip Technology Test Engineer in Austin, Texas


Seeking a self-motivated test engineer for the Timing and Communication Product Group. Will be developing test programs and assisting in product release of SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution and Frequency Synthesizers. As part of the Timing and Communications Group (TCG), the candidate will participate in all aspects of product development, from initial specification through volume manufacturing.

Duties include:

Generating test programs for timing based products

Work with applications, marketing, product and reliability groups, for the release of new products, monitoring goals and schedules

Define and develop high speed low noise ATE test boards

Characterize and evaluate new products

Yield improvement and cost reduction activities


BSEE/CE required, MSEE/CE preferred

Self-motivated, able to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations

Experience with high speed scopes and phase noise measurements

Knowledge of frequency synthesizers and high-speed communication products

Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
