Actalent Component Engineer in Avenel, New Jersey

Description:

  • Provide technical direction in the identification/selection of primary and alternate active/passive

  • components in support of new and existing designs

  • Lead in managing and executing of the component Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP)

  • Support customer SDRLs for diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages

  • (DMSMS) reporting

  • Collaborate with Purchasing/Production teams to keep current on availability/end-of-life status for

  • components to allow proper planning across all company disciplines for alternate selection, re-design,

  • life-time-buy, or product end-of-life dispositions

  • Select component alternates to overcome lead time and availability issues

  • Maintain part catalog technical data and work with component manufacturers in support of failure

  • investigations

  • Coordinate, plan, and schedule testing of alternate components for compliance and reliability analysis

  • Generate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in support of obsolescence efforts

  • Review new technologies and quality trends and make recommendations for improved reliability

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • BA degree in EE

  • 5+ years of component engineering experience

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level
