Health Advocates Network American Government Teacher in Baltimore, Maryland

Health Advocates Network is seeking a American Government Teacher to work at a Facility in Baltimore, MD. This is a registry position with our company.

Pay Rate: $35 - $40 / hour

Shifts Details:

  • Monday through Friday 8am-4pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging American Government Teacher to join our school faculty. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the principles of American government and a passion for educating students about the political system and civic responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers key concepts in American government, including the Constitution, branches of government, political parties, and civic engagement

  • Facilitate discussions and activities that promote critical thinking, debate, and analysis of current events and political issues

  • Encourage students to participate in mock elections, debates, and other experiential learning opportunities to deepen their understanding of the democratic process

  • Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including exams, projects, and class discussions

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate American government topics into interdisciplinary projects and activities

  • Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes civic responsibility

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, History, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

  • Teaching certification or license in Social Studies or Government

  • Previous experience teaching American Government at the high school level

  • Strong knowledge of American political institutions, processes, and historical context

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Commitment to promoting civic engagement and democratic values in the classroom
