Loyola University Maryland Director of Development, Generalist in Baltimore, Maryland

Position Details:

The Director of Development, Generalist is a member of the Major Gifts team and reports to the Assistant Vice President of Advancement, Major Gifts. The Director is responsible for working closely with members of the university administration as well as faculty to identify, cultivate and secure outright, planned and annual gifts from individuals matching donor intent with University initiatives. It is expected that approximately 90% of work time will be devoted to fundraising activities with the remaining 10% devoted to administrative duties. There is an annual expectation to raise between $1.5-2 M in major gifts and conduct 100-125 visits.

Assist in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of major gift donors and donors to Loyola University Maryland. Identify and cultivate, and solicit donor prospects and maintain a portfolio of approximately 125-150 donors.

Ability to travel, at times extensively. Ability to work evening and weekends, especially during the academic year.

Conduct donor solicitations involving volunteers and campus leaders as appropriate and

consistent with Loyola University Maryland strategies, policies and procedures. Coordinate with colleagues and volunteers on various fundraising activities and events

throughout the year.

Develop and propose specific solicitation strategies to Loyola University Maryland fundraising priorities. Match programs and gift opportunities

to the interests of potential donors consistent with established campaign goals for

Loyola University Maryland. Attend and assist with Loyola University Maryland events, which often occur during evening hours and weekends.

Prepare and complete timely contact reports; prepare written proposals, background

reports, and other development materials for use during donor cultivation and solicitation.

Ensure that all gifts are processed according to Loyola University Maryland policies and

that donors are appropriately recognized and stewarded.
