Microchip Technology CAD Engineer in Burnaby, Canada

Description

Microchip is seeking to employ a CAD engineer in our Central CAD division. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the tools and flows required for the design and development of analog, RF and Mixed Signal designs. He or she will also be knowledgeable about design infrastructure and the implications to environment and work practice.

Responsiblities:

  • Work closely with Microchip teams such as Engineering Services, BU Design teams, and Operations, to ensure Microchip’s analog, RF, and mixed signal design flows and tools are robust and reliable.

  • Provide front line support for other Microchip staff in the use of these tools and flows

  • Provide an interface with external tool vendors and suppliers to resolve issues and provide guidance as needed

  • Develop, test, and release scripts and tools as specified to aid in analog/RF or mixed signal design

  • Document or otherwise archive developed material for future use or re-use

  • Such other comparable duties as may be required by Microchip management

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or related program

  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years work experience in analog CAD or design role

  • Must be familiar with EDA tools for analog design, specifically Cadence composer, virtuoso, ADE, spectre simulator, QRC, Matlab

  • Experience with RF simulation techniques using ADS, spectreRF, or other toolset would be an asset

  • Experience with Verilog simulation including timing annotation would be an asset

  • Experience in scripting using Skill, Tcl, Python, csh/sh/bash, PERL, or other language is required

  • Must be familiar with Linux OS and prior use of windows for EDA work would be an asset

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
