Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Course specialization in design and product development and/or Advanced control Systems, Power Systems Analysis, Embedded/Robot systems (preferred).
Applicable course work may include:
Embedded Programming, Robots, Power Systems, Control Systems, VFD theory, Power Transmission Calculations
PLC Programming, Data Structures, Electrical Codes, Safety, Blueprint Design, Electronics design, Product finishing
Microprocessor Programing, Bus Protocol Communication
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Experience designing for large automated systems from initial concept through installation and customer buy off.
Strong fundamental understanding of electrical design practices, machine/motion control systems, VFD/Drive control systems, and electro-mechanical systems.
Experience with Procedural Programing, PLC programming and C++ programming
Familiarity with EPLAN for creating electrical drawings.
Exposure to assembling and commissioning large motion-controlled systems and building panels.
Excellent documentation practices to record how to improve the project/processes going forward.
Detail oriented and able to partition time between various projects with ease.
Knowledge and compliance of NEC and UL electrical standards.
Job Responsibilities
Provide electrical and controls engineering input for design of new equipment & system introductions.
Create and maintain BOMs
Generate panel layout for new automated systems.
Develop full electrical drawing set in EPLAN and maintain current electrical engineering standards/libraries/databases for to re-use sections of the drawings for future projects.
Assist Sales team with electrical engineering expertise for potential new products/projects.
Verifying NEC code compliance
Communicate directly with design team, procurement & production, and German counterparts
