Copeland Engineer Test Equipment Development in Chihuahua, Mexico

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the projects and needs of the company's new products. To develop the necessary equipment to ensure the expected operation of these products, required in their test specifications.

  • Research and development of new methods, equipment and systems design, to implement improvements in test equipment of new developments and current equipment.

  • Develop the test plan to be carried out for new products.

  • Development of the electrical, mechanical, software, pneumatic and documentation of the new test equipment.

  • Carry out and document the necessary validations to the design and software, which ensure the test specifications for the products.

  • Document and manage designs, schematics and software.

  • Train and support the Support, Manufacturing, Quality and Production Engineers so that they have an understanding of the functions of these teams.

  • Identify, develop and implement test and process improvements.

  • Use quality and department reports to measure test team performance and implement improvements.

  • Select and purchase material incorporated into the Test equipment designs.

  • Contribute to the record of actions of the test teams and department projects for purposes of improving their performance.

  • Implement the actions necessary to achieve or exceed cost reduction goals within the area of responsibility.

  • Functions as a responsible member of the team with the ing. of product, quality and manufacturing personnel to maintain a high degree of quality and productivity.

  • Comply with the applicable security policy, regulations and procedures in the company.

Authority:

Responsible for developing, updating, improving, and maintaining the test equipment of the plant.

Basic requirements:

  • Engineer preferably Electromechanical, Mechatronics and/or Electronics. Minimum 3 years of experience as a development engineer.

  • Ability to work with electronic equipment systems.

  • Minimum 90% bilingual Spanish/English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills (both Spanish and English).

  • Experience in ICT equipment, Functional Tests and Electronic processes.

  • Advanced level in CVI programming, Lab View, VB, C++, PLC.

  • Ability to solve problems using analytical methods.

  • Knowledge of automatic inspection equipment (Vision system).

  • Ability to manage projects.

  • Knowledge of basic instrumentation, including digital multimeters, converters, analog-to-digital converters, oscilloscopes, and signal multiplexers.

  • Knowledge and management of software for mechanical design.

  • Visa to travel to the US.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience in automatic inspection equipment.

  • Knowledge of statistical methods, for the analysis and improvement of the performance of test equipment.

  • Knowledge of communication protocols, RS232, I2C, TTL.

  • Green Belt certification
