Job purpose

The Software Engineer Technician will report to our Senior Engineering Manager and will be a part of a cutting edge team leading the way on EV charging. The primary responsibility will be supporting the Engineering team in the development and testing of customer and partner deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Primary focus on software development, testing and supporting in field software integration / debug work

• Contribute and co-lead process and documentation improvements for software testing and test setup.

• Contribute and co-lead process and documentation improvements for field service debugging methods and software integration work.

• Co-lead lessons learned identification, documentation and communication for software debug, installation, integration and test related items.

• Lead trouble shooting activities for field related Sw issues, identifying root cause, plan to mitigate/resolve in field and document problem statement and root cause clearly for engineering teams to bring to closure.

• SolidWorks, Altium PCB design or similar software and Product Data Manager (PDM) software to access work instructions, BOMs, designs.

• Ability to debug embedded electronics by reading circuit schematics or engineering documentation and use of various test equipment automated test equipment and software.

• Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

• Associate degree in electronic technology or a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.

• Ability to work on high voltage/high current circuitry and understand proper safety precautions when troubleshooting/connecting test equipment.

• Knowledge of LabVIEW a plus.

• Ability to read mechanical drawings with basic GD&T understanding.

• Solid understanding of power electronics to be able to troubleshoot power electronics circuitry.

• Basic understanding of power and digital electronics to support team in test and evaluation of new system designs.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

• General electrical and mechanical skills and knowledge of UL standards and test procedures.
