SUMMARYUnder limited supervision designs, develops and maintains test procedures, tester hardware and software for electronic circuit board production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIESDrive test process development and compliance through all aspects of the test environment - change notifications, change management, NPI, equipment maintenance, data analysis and reporting, problem solving, continuous improvements.

Support high volume manufacturing facility with technical expertise in failure analysis, tester debug, software analysis, data analysis, continuous improvement of test performance & uptime of test equipment.

Innovate and develop solutions to improve the way we do business through tool development, scripting, automation and process improvement to drive your personal development in the role and organisation.Deliver specifications for testing to support the product life cycle from NPI through volume ramp and to end of live.Generate reports and analysis of test data, driving data-based improvements with associated documentation and projections.Maintain test equipment integrity through design, data collection and addressing failure issues with customers/suppliers.Design, and direct engineering and technical personnel in fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment.Direct and coordinate engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, record, and reduce test data.Perform complex assignments of the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices.Analyse and interpret test data and prepare technical reports for use by test engineering and management personnel.Provide training in new procedures to production testing staff.

Communication:Communicate openly and directly with data based, engineering analysis and recommendations.

Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.Ask questions; encourage input from team members.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (NFQ level 8 or higher); and three to five years' experience, preferably in a test environment.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyse, and interpret technical procedures, specifications and regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.TECHNICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Test process knowledge and understanding of hardware/software test environments, data generation and analysis. Ability to develop software and/or hardware solutions as problems arise.REASONING ABILITYStructured problem-solving methodology, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to walk, and to lift and carry PC’s and test equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located in the office area, with some time spent each day on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in this environment ranges from low to moderate.
