Monday through Friday - 8:30 to 4:30 with occasional evenings and weekends for a total of 35 hours per week.

EIE-RPE Prevention Educator

Responsible for the coordination and implementation of The Retreat's Enough is Enough (EIE) Campus Sexual Violence Prevention Program as well as assisting our Rape Prevention Education (RPE) program. The purpose of the EIE program is to develop collaborative partnerships with colleges/universities in Suffolk County and provide domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual violence education, training and support to these campuses. Assistance for the RPE Program will come under the guidance of the RPE Program Coordinator. This position is currently funded through 4/30/25.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Conduct outreach to colleges/universities located in Suffolk County for the purpose of developing collaborative partnerships for this program

Negotiate the terms and execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with partnering colleges/universities. Work to develop a schedule of trainings and awareness activities specific to each campus

Integrate into campus communities. Develop a comprehensive understanding of culture, climate, programs, organized clubs/groups, and resources for each campus through ongoing assessments.

Assist the Rape Prevention Program with trainings and community outreach events, including "Alive After Five" in nearby Patchogue, NY during the summer months.

Alternate schedules/Evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate active college semesters and scheduled programming.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree and or 3+ years of relevant experience preferred. Strong knowledge of dynamics regarding domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual assault.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills.

  • Experience with providing education programs as well as training/awareness activities.

  • Ability to travel across Suffolk County, transport materials and equipment as necessary.

    Other requirements:

  • Must have a valid New York State Driver's License (required)

  • Fingerprint clearance required
