POSITION SUMMARYThis position requires both education and experience in electrical engineering. The individual will be responsible to oversee engineering test operations including test program development, probe, auto/manual testing and configuration and coordination of testing related to up-screen products; will recommend engineering test equipment/provide tester correlation, while working closely with supply chain partners (SCPs) to ensure proper testing of semiconductor solutions.This position is based at Central Semiconductor's Corporate Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY; relocation assistance is available to a qualified hire who currently resides outside of the Long Island, NY area.KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops software and documented processes to test discrete semiconductor devices using manual and ATE, wafer probers, and engineering lab equipment.Designs test hardware (test boards, sockets, fixtures); determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing.Provides test programs, limits, and conditions to front-end and back-end SCPs to ensure clear parametric expectations and to ensure test correlation of critical device parameters; ensures released test programs have required parametric test margin, guard bands, and meet manufacturing release requirements and that yield expectations are satisfied.Analyzes in-house testing requirements (current and future) and develops detailed plans necessary for execution.Recommends new test equipment and equipment modifications. Designs, develops and debugs hardware/software.Analyzes test data, summarizes findings, and presents conclusions and recommendations.Coordinates all test and product characterization requirements associated with new product development, qualification, and product launch by working closely with Product Development Engineering and Quality; coordinates the validation of new silicon against design targets; identifies and resolves test bottlenecks and removes obstacles.Analyzes customer Source Control Drawings (SCDs) in order to determine internal and external test viability for up-screened products by working closely with Product Development Engineering, Production and Quality; analyzes and configures test hardware and set-ups required for various life testing / up-screening requirements.Makes recommendations and coordinates external testing requirements with technology partners.Supports manufacturing and operations activities such as resolving product related yield issues, managing product changes, and providing timely responses to customer concerns.Reviews yield statistics of new products/packages, and coordinates test solutions with Quality, Engineering, and Materials/Operations when unacceptable yields or assembly problems related to testing occur.POSITION REQUIREMENTSRequired:BSEE or equivalent degree from 4-year accredited college or university; and minimum 7 years hands experience in electrical engineering; and significant background in product/component engineering, test engineering, and/or device engineering; and working knowledge of all basic lab equipment such as curve tracers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, pulse generators, etc., as well as knowledge of industry recognized Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms/protocols.Preferred:Experience with discrete semiconductors, wafer probe, and assembled product testing; 10 years minimum hands-on related experience; knowledge of Quality Control principles and methodology; and experience with ISO9001:2015.Equal Opportunity Employer.
