Senior Automated Test Engineer

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in automation technology, computer science or equivalent scientific qualification with a minimum of 3 years of applicable working experience

  • ISTQB certification desired

  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills in German and English language to work effectively with others.

Experience:

  • Experience in at least one test automation framework required

  • Solid scripting language experience required

  • Experience in test automation for Microsoft Windows applications/GUI as well as web applications desired

  • Experience in a medical device or government regulated environment (MDR, FDA) desired

  • Project work, problem solving techniques, analytical and structured approach, team work

Knowledge:

  • Programming skills in C++/C#/JavaScript or other programming languages desired

  • Tools for numerical analysis (Python, Matlab, Octave, etc.) desired

Objective:

  • Active participation in R&D projects through the entire stage gate process up to the design transfer which brings the new product into pilot production

  • Close collaboration and communication with the engineering department to guarantee an integrated solution.

Essential Duties (Primary Tasks):

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility for creating, maintaining the automation framework and coordination with team members, leads and managers

  • Analysis of test case for automation

  • Code analysis for debugging and rectification of defects and analysis of the results and the log files

  • Transformation of technical requirement scenarios into automation test cases scenarios

  • Implementation of end-to-end tests scenarios for automation scripts

  • Design development, execution and maintenance of automated test programs for software, embedded software and hardware testing.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • May participate in developments for several simultaneous/concurrent projects and programs

  • Participate effectively in a Teamwork oriented atmosphere

  • Uphold the core values of the Organsiation and the RDx business

  • Perform verification related tasks or projects as required by the manager, including team participation and support of department goals

Reporting

  • The holder of the position reports on regular term to the Manager R&D Verification on the respective status of the assigned tasks or projects, variations in delivery dates and quality specification.

  • Upon request the owner of the position shall report about the status of a project and deviations from a stated time-line or quality and advise the Manager R&D Verification of corrective measures to be taken

  • The owner of the position will immediately report all potential risks, operational failures, time constraint problems and extraordinary events that will negatively impact the project/ task to the Manager R&D Verification. Serious quality issues are to be immediately reported to the Director, Quality Management.

Supervision

  • The owner of this position may delegate work to external contractors which are assigned to projects which the owner of this position works on.

  • The owner of this position may review work performed by other engineers and external contractors and decide if changes or re-work is necessary.
