JOB SUMMARY

Nabors is seeking an Intern to join our research and development team focused on hydrogen evolution and carbon nanomaterial applications. The candidate will help develop proton exchange membranes, electrolyzers and fuel cells. The Intern may also formulate, test, and characterize carbon nanomaterials. This is an interdisciplinary hands-on position requiring a willingness to investigate novel ideas in a dynamic environment with other scientists and engineers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle novel carbon nanomaterials following established protocols.

• Characterize materials using a variety of analytical techniques such as XRD, Raman and FTIR.

• Evaluate the performance of carbon nanomaterials in various applications.

• Assist in the production of proton exchange membranes.

• Run electrolyzers or fuel cells to evaluate proton exchange membranes.

• Optimize proton exchange membrane performance.

• Maintain accurate records of experimental activities, prepare reports and present results to peers.

• Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical, safety and professional skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• In pursuit of undergraduate degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.

• General knowledge of hydrogen evolution and carbon nanomaterial applications.

• Some previous experience in a laboratory environment.

• Ability to follow established protocols.

• Ability to record data accurately and share results with others.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field of study.

• Hands on experience in a laboratory environment.

• Familiarity with basic laboratory procedures.

• Ability to flourish as part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers.

• The successful candidate will be innovative, self-starting and team orientated.

• Working understanding of control and variable experimental process.
