We have an exciting opportunity within Caterpillar for a Lead Cash Forecasting Financial Analyst to develop Caterpillar’s Enterprise Cash Forecast & Actuals analysis. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to peers as well as recommendations to management on treasury finance issues. This role will lead Treasury’s data analytics cash forecasting strategy and will also consult with business units/legal entities/business partners to improve Treasury operations. Activities include, but are not limited to cash management, bank management, cash forecasting, foreign exchange, and internal funding.

This position is challenged to identify problems quickly and correctly, which may not be obvious. You will solve problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions, and will be free to determine the best way to complete job assignments to achieve desired results.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop cash forecasting & actuals analysis for the enterprise

  • Independently perform staff level Treasury functions to support various M&E (Machine & Engine) Treasury activities depending on location and business unit.

  • Develop technical proficiency in Treasury systems including but not limited to Quantum, TRAX, bank portals, and general ledger systems

  • Participate in or lead strategic process improvement initiatives in Cash Management or Corporate Finance Services including cash management reviews

  • Primary back-up coverage for key Cash Management processes

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience: 4-year degree and/or equivalent experience in Corporate Treasury/Finance desired

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision

  • Communicating Complex Concepts: Strong communication skills with knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to recognize, anticipate, and resolve organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Relationship Management: Good human relations skills to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department

  • Financial Markets: Good understanding of international finance, the foreign exchange, commodity, and interest rate markets

  • Financial Analysis: Strong data analytics skills and previous experience developing queries to data mine information out of system(s) via Structured Query Language (SQL) programming, Python, and cloud-based databases. Accounting, investment analysis and auditing skills desired

  • This position can be located in Peoria, IL, Nashville, TN, or at our new Global Headquarters in Irving, TX
