POSITION SUMMARY: Day & Evening shifts available

The EVS Tech is responsible for basic and specialty cleaning to all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, offices, hallways, floors and common areas (as assigned) in accordance with healthcare best practices and guidance.

Wage Range:

Minimum: $17.00/hour

Maximum: $25.71/hour

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma preferred.

  • Six months previous housekeeping experience preferred.

  • Must have effective oral/written communication skills in order to perform job.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • DAILY DUTIES/TASKS WITHIN SCOPE OF WORK

  • In all areas of facility (patient care and non-patient care areas)

  • Comply with all product labeling standards, storage, PPE processes, ergonomic body mechanics, standard work safety and environmental safety.

  • Removed and properly dispose of trash and recycling.

  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect trash receptacles.

  • Clean and disinfect all “high touch” surfaces (door handles, hand rails, etc.).

  • Remove and properly stage soiled linens.

  • Stock clean linens.

  • Keep all paper goods and other expendables sufficiently stocked at all times.

  • Perform high dusting (including vents) in all rooms of assigned work shift area.

  • Perform cleaning of all surfaces in assigned work shift area.

  • Clean and disinfect all cleaning equipment; including but not limited to items such as EVS equipment and patient laundry machines.

  • Clean all fixtures within all lavatories in assigned work shift area (toilet, sink, and shower).

  • Sweep and mop all floor (and wall base) surfaces.

  • Clean all furniture (including hard surfaces of patient beds).

  • Respond rapidly to urgent issues, such as an overflowing toilet or other facility conditions which present health & safety hazards; and participate in the response to any facility emergencies. *All hospital staff are required to participate in emergency management processes and response activities.

  • Provide full cleaning services to all offices and other non-clinical spaces within and adjacent to assigned work shift area.

  • Keep supplies/equipment safely stored and fully secure from patient access at all times; and adhere to uniform system of organizing carts and storage spaces.

  • Assist coworkers as needed.

  • Take immediate action to minimize risk in the environment of care.

  • Comply with practices, standards, and regulations associated with environment of care, life safety, emergency management, as well as Infection Control and Risk Management plans, policies and procedures.

  • Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.

  • Coordinate with facilities department to support cleaning needs of maintenance projects

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
