Job Overview:
This is a highly independent new technician role within the pharmacy department! If you enjoy cleanroom policy and procedures, USP guidelines, teaching, attention to detail, and reports, then this is the job for you!
Qualifications:
Required:
High school graduate or equivalent
1 year of Pharmacy Hospital and IV room experience
Preferred:
Associates degree preferred
ASHP compounded sterile preparations certificate for technicians is highly recommended.
Certifications and Licenses Required:
Registered Pharmacy Technician with NJ board of Pharmacy
PTCB - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board- certification within 6 months of employment
CSPT- Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician through PTCB certification board within 6 months of employment
Scheduling Requirements:
Shift working; Mainly 8-4pm, Hours are subject to change based off required tasks that need to be completed including testing of weekend/overnight cleanroom staff.

Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of Sterile Products and Operations Supervisor, the Technician Sterile Product Compliance/inventory maintenance would be responsible for:
Enforcement of current and future USP797-800 processes and procedures
Surface sampling all of the cleanrooms and hoods monthly
Twice yearly testing of our cleanroom staff in garbing, hand hygiene and aseptic manipulation
Training cleanroom staff
Assessing competency of all cleanroom staff initially and annually
Maintenance of cleaning, temperature, and humidity logs
Along with the primary responsibility of cleanroom compliance, additional tasks would include Pyxis inventory management to optimize our medications in Pyxis house wide, staff scheduling, technician education and competency, and assistance with gaps in staffing
