Job Description

AECOM is in need of a System Assurance Lead/Engineer to work with our client TTC on some of their high-profile public Transit projects.

The job incumbent will be offered a regular, full-time position with AECOM and work on secondment to TTC.

Candidate will report for work at the downtown Toronto TTC office a few times a week for the length of the secondment. After the secondment is compete, the employee will return to AECOM to be re-assigned to another project. The home office for the employee at that time can be either the AECOM Markham or Whitby office, with hybrid work permitted.

Job Summary:

As a member of the Program Integration Team, reporting to the Program Manager, the Systems assurance lead is responsible for the program Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety and Security (RAMSS) with focus on Safety and Reliability.

The responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Providing guidelines for Project Safety analyses (from preliminary hazards analysis to certification) in alignment with standards and TTC guidelines.

  • Determining Safety certification requirements for the CEP projects in coordination with program and project teams.

  • Providing guidelines for the development of Safety Certification Plan to the project teams.

  • Providing guidelines for Project RAM analysis and defining targets and performance requirements.

  • Provide oversight and review of the CEP projects’ systems assurance activities.

  • Providing guidelines for the Safety and assurance activities’ acceptance criteria to the project teams.

  • Review the Project Safety Certification plans and oversee the execution of the Safety Certification activities.

  • Review (Safety and assurance aspects) of pre-design, design and V&V deliverables.

  • Support Requirement management and interface management activities.

  • Liaison with the TTC Safety departments on behalf of CEP.

  • Liaison with O&M, V&V and integration leads to support CEP projects’ integration and handover.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess no less than:

  • University Degree in relevant field of study + 6 (six) years of relevant experience in Automatic Train Control systems assurance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in other rail systems (Traction Power, Trackwork, Fire Ventilation and Communication systems) and rapid transit operation and maintenance would be an asset.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $77,000.00 - $135,000.00.
