What will you be doing?

As a Kindergarten Manager, you will establish, evaluate and develop the academic aims and standards of the Kindergarten program, in partnership with the children, staff, parents, and Alberta Education. You will partner with the Program Manager to lead and manage the Kindergarten program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Manager in establishing and maintaining a vibrant and thriving school program.

  • Work alongside with the Program Manager for strategic and effective management of the Kindergarten program.

  • Manage the performance of the Kindergarten teaching staff.

  • Ensure that quality educational programmes take place in a safe, positive, and healthy learning environment.

  • Promote high standards in all aspects of school life, particularly in children’s personal and academic progress.

  • Inspire and motivate children, teachers, and other school employees.

  • Comply with the professional duties of the Code of Conduct.

  • Contribute to a school culture which is positive, purposeful and professionalism.

  • Be committed to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of children in our classrooms.

  • Leading Learning and Teaching

  • Organize professional development for the team for the year.

  • Check long range plans for the teachers for their growth and interests.

  • Collaborate with marketing for new/existing locations.

  • Lead the development of a first-class learning environment that encompasses the applicable requirements of the Kindergarten Education Curriculum from Alberta Education.

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the Kindergarten Education Curriculum

  • Set a model of excellence in classroom practice.

  • Carry out all the duties of a class teacher when necessary.

  • Track children’s progress, monitor standards of learning and teaching to set realistic academic targets.

  • Coordinate curriculum timetables in liaison with the Program Manager

  • Deal proactively and in a timely manner, with parental concerns.

  • Be an integral part of the leadership team assisting in the leadership of the Kindergarten program.

  • Build strong relationships with parents and assist in the coordination and delivery of parent curriculum meetings and/or workshops as appropriate.

  • Actively support the vision, ethos, culture, and policies of the Busy Bees

  • Take seriously the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, and to work together with others to ensure adequate arrangements within the school help to identify, assess, and support children who are special education.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Bachelor of Education Degree from Alberta

  • Qualified Kindergarten Teacher with at least 3-5 years of teaching experience.

  • Knowledge of Alberta Education and in a leadership role for at least 2 years.
