NiSource Operational Excellence - Corrective Action Governance Specialist in Merrillville, Indiana

Job Summary

Operational Excellence – Corrective Action Governance is responsible to administer and drive the governance and standardization of the Corrective Action Program (CAP) within all operating companies, executing continuous improvement opportunities, communicating corrective action performance health and the administration of the Devonway application for NiSource.

Essential Functions

  • SMS & Culture: Ensure corrective action governance and standardization across the organization. Support 5maintaining a culture of safety and risk identification / mitigation.

  • Stakeholder & End User Support: Perform the support of the SMS CAP mailbox, SMS TIPs hotline, provide technical support and the collection of data for data (ad hoc) requests.

  • Quality Assurance & Quality Controls: Perform daily auditing of corrective actions for quality assurance, quality controls, closure quality and gathering closure survey feedback.

  • Data Analytics, Trending and Analysis: Perform data collection, analytics, trending, and analysis of the Corrective Action Program (CAP) and of other key work processes in partnership with business partner stakeholders to identify trends and risks utilizing data and information from a variety of data sources and systems.

  • Reporting: Perform and ensure Corrective Action Program (CAP) data integrity and governance through standardized reports, templates, and processes. Provide support for regular CAP Program reporting to drive execution and health monitoring, to include regular summaries and customized dashboards detailing CAP Program metrics, trends, and SMS related insights.

  • Technology: Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Regression Testing for incident ticket resolutions, enhancements, or new technology builds. Perform reviews and audits of Test Scripting for UAT and regression testing needs.

  • Continuous Improvement: Perform collection and screening of proposed continuous improvement opportunities associated with Corrective Action Program (CAP) processes, technology, reporting, KPIs/metrics, and training needs.

  • Required Qualifications For Position

  • High School Diploma

  • 2 Years Required or Bachelor's Degree

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to learn new systems and become proficient with them (e.g. digital platforms, Tableau, think-cell, etc.)

  • Experience in digital platform End User Acceptance (UAT) testing and/or Regression Testing

  • Experience in performing auditing, quality assurance and controls analysis

  • Experience with data mining / analysis of large datasets

  • Experience with identifying trends / opportunities through data analysis

  • Ability to organize and interpret data to prepare recommendations based on analysis and trending and drive approval of recommendations through appropriate stakeholders

  • Experience with project planning and execution

  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Ability to drive and monitor continuous improvement

  • Proactive in collaborating and leveraging interpersonal skills.

  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.

  • Proven ability to prepare and present presentations at all levels of the internal organization and external associations

  • Analytical / critical thinking with proven business acumen

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work independently with strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Proven track record of leadership

  • Excellent planning, organization, and verbal/written communication skills

  • Effective project management skills and ability to drive execution

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and team participation at various states concurrently ensuring timely delivery and desired outcomes

  • Creating, maintaining and enhancing critical internal stakeholder relationships

  • Contribution to team success

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience developing, implementing, and/or executing a corrective action program or continuous learning program

  • Continuous Improvement experience

  • Knowledge of NiSource gas utility and field operations

  • Knowledge and understanding of American Petroleum Institute (API) Recommended Practice (RP) 1173

  • Preferred Areas of Study: Statistics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, or Economics

  • Experience with NiSource business processes and tools / technologies

  • Advanced proficiency with databases, statistical analysis tools and/or programing languages such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, R, Python, VBA, Java, PHP, etc.

  • Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor's Degree

Salary Range:

$65,900.00 - $99,000.00
