Eaton Corporation Senior Product Engineer in Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer located in Moon Township, PA area. ( Hybrid )

Relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Senior Product Engineer will perform product design engineering for Eaton’s Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) product line. Responsibilities include new product development from inception through production implementation, maintaining third-party certifications & functional requirements, supporting the resolution of production yield and quality issues, performance enhancements to improve existing products, and validating changes in design, manufacturing, and cost reductions. You will work closely with the industrialization and product line marketing teams, in addition to plant manufacturing & quality teams, and customers. You will also have design responsibility for select products and learn industrial circuit breaker technology and applications.

In this function, you will:

  • Compile and study product requirements/standards, and perform conceptual and detailed design, development, validation, and documentation of product designs.

  • Enhance performance margin by utilizing Design for Six Sigma, simulation & modeling, and statistical quality.

  • Generate and execute test programs to determine if design criteria for the overall system, software, and hardware are met.

  • Build prototypes as needed to support evaluation and validation of existing product and development project performance, directing relevant testing in lab facilities.

  • Work with manufacturing process owners to understand capabilities, design accordingly, establish process controls, and validate the process for cost-effective, error-proof manufacturing.

  • Develop technical knowledge in circuit breaker design and testing along with the applicable governing regulatory standards (UL, CSA, IEC, NEMA, etc.).

  • Utilize communication skills to clarify product requirements, prepare for design reviews, deploy designs and instructions, share application information, and lead teams.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Two (2) years of experience working in mechanical or electromechanical systems design

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • Relocation Assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Moon Township, PA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years of experience working in mechanical or electromechanical systems design

  • Experience with Six Sigma quality tools.

  • General knowledge of product design for cost-effective manufacture and working knowledge of regulatory standards.

  • Computer skills. Experience with Creo Parametric, and computer-based simulation modeling (static stress, thermal, tolerance, etc.).

Skills:

  • Cross-functional teamwork requiring written and verbal communication skills. Fundamentals of project management.

  • Methodical mechanical problem solver. Fundamentals of electricity.

  • Understanding product requirements, performance margin and product/component design.

  • Basic laboratory and shop skills.

  • May require up to 25% US and overseas travel.
