Job Description:

The Microchip Frequency and Timing Systems business unit is a world leader in precise time solutions and sets the world's standard for time. Our work produces, distributes, and applies precise time for the communications, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure, and measurement industries. Our Vectron group in Mount Holly Springs, PA is a market leader specializing in Quartz Precision Oscillators and Frequency Control Solutions. We are seeking a current college student to fill an Electrical Engineer Intern role. This position is a fit for someone that enjoys technical achievement, cooperative research, never-ending chances to learn, and a friendly team environment. You will work alongside senior design engineers to develop the skills required to test, characterize, and launch new designs along with supporting existing designs in production. Key Responsibilities: Candidate will assist in electrical and mechanical design of crystal oscillators for integration into manufacturing Assist in the design creation including circuit design, mechanical design, board layout, prototype evaluation, and creation of supporting documentation Perform testing of new and existing oscillator designs in a lab environment using various types of electrical test equipment Troubleshoot oscillator circuits Building and testing of breadboards

Requirements/Qualifications:

Current or recent graduate in a BSEE or BSET program Knowledge of electronics theory, specifically analog and digital circuits and components used in rf signal generation and wave shaping Basic knowledge of electronic simulation software for the design and simulation of circuits Basic knowledge of test equipment: Power supplies, Oscilloscopes, Multi-Meters, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, etc. Self-driven to lead and complete projects within established commitment times Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with cross-functional teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills US Citizenship Required
