Amazon Sr. L&D Specialist, Global Operations in Nashville, Tennessee

In this role, you will work with our Global Operations Leadership & Development (GOLD) team and be part of a group of motivated learning experts to establish and drive our strategy, build relationships, lead special projects, and ensure successful design, delivery, and measurement of our educational programs. You will work both independently and as an integrated member of global teams to conduct detailed training needs assessments, design and build innovative learning solutions across a variety of modalities (simulated, gamified, self-directed, and high touch).

Key job responsibilities

• Lead multiple learning projects and designs that enhance our ability to efficiently and effectively deliver the right learning, to the right people, at the right time.

• Collaborate with senior leaders, subject matter experts to conduct detailed training needs assessments.

• Craft and execute innovative and measurable learning journeys considering a range of modalities including digital learning, on-the-job, blended, augmented/virtual-reality, mobile learning, performance support, simulations and gamified approaches.

• Articulate learning measurement and learning sustainment strategies to validate that our proposed solutions are having impact.

• Lead junior project team members and support the authoring of learning solutions using an array of authoring tools and technologies including Articulate, multimedia authoring platforms, assessment tools, LMS, etc.

• Maintain knowledge of current trends in the realm of learning technology, science, and analytics through research, conducting experiments, and crafting/presenting white papers.

About the team

The Global Operations Leadership & Development (GOLD) team is hiring a Sr. Learning and Development Specialist to support leadership development programs within Worldwide Ops (WWOps). As a member of the GOLD team, the Learning Experience PM will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining proficiency programs. This role is critical in shaping the entire learning experience and leadership development of this population, playing a pivotal role in optimizing the learning experience to ensure they are well-equipped to effectively support their team and the operation.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field.

• 7+ years’ experience in designing innovative learning to support adult learners in a corporate context.

• Experience working with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and leaders to design learning journeys and establish personas.

• Experience with online course authoring technologies.

• Knowledge of learning science and instructional design and assessment methodologies given a corporate context.

• Excellent project management and organization skills including a proven track record of taking end-to-end ownership and driving results with a strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field.

• 7+ years’ experience designing and executing innovative and scalable learning journeys.

• Experience using quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visuals.

• Demonstrated consistent delivery on commitments - great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.

• Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced, changing work environment.

• Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise judgment in complex and ambiguous situations.

• Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel.

• Possess a high level of integrity, judgment, and discretion in handling confidential information.

• Confidence in dealing with senior level staff and ability to communicate in a crisp, concise, and professional manner.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, technical environment.

• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
