Description: Summary

The Department of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to develop a research project within the NINDS mission, including basic, clinical, and translational approaches, for the applicant to obtain individual mentored career development awards.

Description of Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to perform studies independently, publish scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, and present at national and international scientific meetings. As part of the postdoctoral experience, applicants will receive mentoring for developing research proposals and participation in career development activities will be strongly encouraged. There are several weekly seminar series and Grand Rounds opportunities.

 

Qualifications

Candidate must hold an MD or PhD in basic sciences.

The candidate should demonstrate an academic record of excellence, independent research, and a strong interest in basic and clinical medical research. Applicants with a background in Medicine, Neurobiology, Neuroscience, Molecular biology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology are encouraged to apply.
