Microsoft Corporation Senior Finance Manager in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s consumer business is a rapidly expanding and dynamic space that encompasses a diverse portfolio of offerings, from Xbox Gaming to Bing Advertising and Microsoft 365 subscriptions. The Consumer Ecosystem Finance team is at the heart of our Microsoft consumer strategy (Microsoft +), defining the overall market opportunity, building long-range strategic plans, and analyzing the competitive landscape. The team is highly visible and works closely with marketing, engineering, and corporate strategy.

We are currently seeking a Senior Finance Manager to partner with the Consumer Ecosystem team (Microsoft +), Consumer Growth Engine (CGE) team and will also get involved with Consumer Copilot. CGE is a lever to land our consumer ecosystem strategy by using our in-product/in-app digital experiences to deliver personalized recommendations to help users find, try, buy and use more products in the ecosystem. The Senior Finance Manager will also own and drive Consumer Long-Range Planning, Total Addressable Market (TAM) analysis, and key performance metric planning and benchmarking analytics. This role scopes from the ability to dive into the details when necessary but also elevate to executive-level altitude. The ideal candidate exhibits curiosity, is a fast learner, and has a passion for understanding Consumer business models, drivers, and products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and research of present and future performance to deliver key business insights and recommended growth strategies.

  • Collaborate with business leaders to define action plans based on insights and business objectives.

  • Develop user friendly reports and communications that are audience specific to ensure clarity, drive alignment, and enable effective management and decision-making.

  • Lead annual Long Range Planning (LRP) process for Devices and Consumer Services. Owns the LRP model and framework presented to senior Consumer leaders. Drives alignment across senior partners in finance, marketing, and engineering organizations.

  • Drives TAM analysis across key verticals and segments. Owns TAM refreshes and shares insights on key trends.

  • Partner with teams to develop robust insights and benchmarks.

  • Drive the business to achieve or beat conversion and return on investment (ROI) targets

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
