Microchip Technology Facility Security Officer and Senior Manager, Business Operations in San Jose, California

As the Facility Security Officer (FSO) the individual will “supervise and direct security measures” within the facility. The FSO must be a US Citizen employee, who is cleared to work within the cleared facility. The Facility Security Officer (FSO) position plays an integral role in ensuring the effective implementation of the Foreign Ownership, Control and Influence (FOCI) mitigation agreement. In addition to serving as the principle advisor to the Government Security Committee (GSC), the FSO is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the FOCI mitigation agreement requirements.

As the Facility Security Officer (FSO), the FSO will provide onsite support for all security actions, conduct security briefings and debriefings, monitor classified controlled areas, prepare and review documentation, to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Certification and Accreditations (C&A) packages, receive and implement requirements for new DD254’s and perform periodic self-inspections.

The FSO will also: maintain the Facility Security Clearance through compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), manage the Security Education Program; administer the program to physically protect classified materials; maintain records, databases, and forms for documentation purposes; conduct bi-annually self-inspections or as required by Defense Security Service (DSS) and other reviews as directed by the government; have and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Foreign Ownership, Control and Influence (FOCI) company requirements, Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Electronic-Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP), the OPM.Gov/eQIP and NISPOM.

In addition to the FSO duties, the Senior Manager, Business Operations is responsible for partnering with sales and driving design wins and growing revenue in the focus New Products within the PRO Business Unit with specific emphasis on Strategic Accounts. In this key, high visibility role, close interaction with marketing, sales, and internal operational teams will be paramount in growing the PRO Business Unit top line revenue.

In the Business Operations function, driving client relationships at the procurement level, defining and executing pricing strategies, working closely with distribution sales and leveraging favorable business terms and conditions in the design in product families will be a critical success metric.

An integral part of this role is the price negotiation of key opportunities, defining and implementing pricing strategies for Strategic Accounts, implementing methodologies to track and forecast current and future revenues, unit forecast demand, meeting custom client requirements, and driving the overall FPGA business.

The Senior Manager will also manage Business Operations activity and teams related to New Product Introduction, including price books, margin policies, sales training, product rollout and forecasting in close conjunction with the Product Marketing and Operations teams

A significant responsibility of this role is the quality of service delivered to the worldwide sales team and the proactive/collaborative search for more profitable ways of doing business.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing account strategy plans, revenue and profitability. Take primary responsibility for driving strategic accounts at the procurement level

  • Provide vision and leadership to drive business and pricing models for new or existing products into existing or emerging market segments

  • Implement Volume Purchase Agreement analysis and Revenue Tracking systems that consider regional and account specifics and build a pricing strategy and customer response in conjunction with the sales leaders

  • Proactively provide pricing strategy recommendations to win designs and grow top and bottom line results

  • Analyze the escalation processes and regularly recommend guidelines and authority levels to maintain a disciplined and structured approach.

  • Drive, review and approve new business and contract documents and quotations

  • Manage escalation of custom requirements and business transactions

  • Manage new major opportunities that require custom tools, flows, screening, etc.

  • Track demand creation activity for assigned accounts and derive models for revenue and unit forecasts

  • Work with Sales to uncover competitive threats

  • Develop and implement quoting and analysis tools to be used by the Business Operations and Customer Service team

  • Drive backlog, quotes, cancellations and forecasting efforts in line with the company's process and coordinating with product group management, Marketing, and Operations

  • Partner with product marketing to address financial and operational issues

  • Define process improvements as it relates to maximizing revenue growth

  • Work with distribution management at SoC and Corporate to drive top line growth

Requirements

  • Unites States Citizen able to apply for and pass a US Security Clearance

  • DSS FSO Training Certification (required with 8 weeks of start date)

  • 3-7 years of industrial security experience performing the functions of implementing security policies in compliance with federal regulations

  • Proficient in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS)

  • Bachelor's degree (preferable advanced degree) and 12+ years' experience performing the above functions within the semiconductor/FPGA industry

  • Must be proficient with multiple tools and capable of developing new ones to manage revenue forecast, VPAs, pricing, unit demand, inventory, and lead-times

  • Proven track record of successfully driving design-win closure

  • Experience in developing and delivering compelling strategy proposals to sales and management

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with CRM, ERP tools

  • Excellent written, oral communication and PowerPoint presentation skills

  • Highly organized, with attention to detail, time management, and deadlines

  • Ability to develop win-win client business agreements in conjunction with sales, product marketing, and vertical marketing organizations while continuing to meet company revenue and profitability goals

  • Results focus to establish clear market penetration goals and strategies with alignment from others around objectives and strategies
