Software and Services

Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple’s long-held passion for combining art and technology. We enable Apple’s apps and services, and we do it on an extensive scale, to hundreds of millions of customers in over 35 languages and in more than 150 countries. The ASE Security team is seeking a Manager to lead a team of Security Engineering Program Managers to drive the development and hardening of the services and infrastructure that power Apple’s internal and external products. You will lead efforts across Apple to implement new features and ensure security continues to be at the forefront of our software and development processes. You will join a team of engineering-focused program managers committed to and passionate about driving forward our security, privacy and compliance technologies. As our work is integral through the entire software stack, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of engineering teams. We foster strong relationships, build trust, and influence without direct authority. We communicate openly and clearly, collaborate enthusiastically, and value a culture of healthy debate. This is not a task-based job; we are accountable for delivering secure and performant systems. Do these points resonate with you? If so, we want to hear from you!

Description

We are looking for a Manager to lead a talented team of Security Engineering Program Managers that are helping secure the future of Apple’s cloud platforms and services. In this position you’ll build a company-wide vision for how Apple secures its services and infrastructure, including hardening existing infrastructure, collaborating on new security initiatives, and designing new and secure system deployment. This will involve building consensus across all of Apple’s security teams, cloud and infra engineering, global networking, and DC teams, from line engineers to the c-suite. This is a hands-on role working very closely with the engineering org, as well as site-reliability engineering, business, finance, and operational teams. You are the thread tying these disparate teams together to deliver end-to-end initiatives that improve the security for iCloud, internal cloud services, and infrastructure. You will lead a team that is involved in all aspects of the project life-cycle, whether it be helping develop functional requirements, getting into the detailed analysis, facilitating proofs-of-concept, or global platform delivery. You build positive relationships; you are aware of politics but do not get mired in them; you are constantly looking to improve yourself and your team; you see around corners; and you deliver.
