Seattle Children’s Hospital Mental Health Therapist - Surgical Gender Affirmation Program in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities: The Mental Health Therapist - Program Management works as one of several program managers who coordinates the Seattle Children's Gender Clinic in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine. The Mental Health Therapist facilitates care coordination and health care system navigation for patients and families. The Mental Health Therapist will also perform gender dysphoria evaluations for patients interested in services at the Gender Clinic. Outside of clinic, the Mental Health Therapist will triage referrals, assist with outreach efforts, participate in and facilitate consultation groups, and assist families with case management such as working with insurance companies or finding community resources for families. Job Posting Addendum: This role will include participation in the Surgical Gender Affirmation Program (SGAP). It may include providing brief therapeutic services related to maximizing and clarifying gender surgical goals. This is a Monday-Friday day shift position with approximately 1 remote day per week. Requirements: Required Education/Experience: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field. Minimum two years experience in providing direct professional mental health services to patients and families. Required Credentials: Licensed as a Mental Health Professional in Washington State in appropriate field according to degree (e.g., LMHC, LICSW, LMFT). Within 90 days of employment, must obtain, and then maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment. All medical and allied health professional staff members are provisional for the first year. Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's. Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies. Questions regarding medical or allied health professional staff privileges may be directed to Medical Staff Services. Preferred: Experience working with adolescents identifying as LGBTQ. Experience with adolescents with behavioral problems. Experience with insurance navigation for transgender patients. Experience providing comprehensive gender assessments to begin gender-affirming treatment. Experience with evidence based practice. Experience utilizing an electronic medical record system. Min to Max Hourly Salary: $44.46 - $66.69 /hr Min to Max Annual Salary: $92,476.80 - $138,715.20 /yr Salary Information: This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
