As part of a unique and highly-skilled team, you'll perform environmental testing of flight hardware. In this hands-on position you'll work directly with a diverse and small team operating and maintaining the environmental test equipment while conducting development, qualification and acceptance testing of flight hardware. Additional responsibilities include: Conduct hands-on shock, vibration, thermal, humidity and vacuum testing on flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016 and MIL-STD-1540 Operate test consoles and work with a team of engineers & technicians to execute component level testing Ensure all operations are performed safely, on time and in a professional manner Work with test, flight and safety critical hardware, tools and shop equipment Setup and safely operate high energy systems (e.g. high pressure gases, cryogenics and electrical) Operate and maintain environmental test equipment including data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, vibration systems and instrumentation Conduct and/or oversee several test projects simultaneously while supporting operation schedules Configure test setups, fixtures and instrumentation per test plans and standards Review test documentation for test readiness Maintain cleanliness of test equipment and test lab Identify, communicate, and mitigate cost, schedule and technical risks Participate in Process/Job Hazard Assessments/Test Readiness Reviews Qualifications: Extensive background and direct hands-on experience with shock and vibration testing required. Experience troubleshoot and diagnosing off-nominal vibration scenarios. B.S. degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program(Mechanical, or Physics desired) Ability to read and interpret engineering data, drawings, standards and technical requirements Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations Weekend shifts or overtime are frequently required for particular tasks or test series Position level commensurate with experience Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
