Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.

• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

• Experience with performance analysis or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

• 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

• Knowledge of Machine Learning workloads.

The On-Device Performance team is part of the Core Machine Learning (ML) product area, with a mission of driving ML for Google. The team provides the performance that powers on-device ML experiences across audio and Generative AI domains on mobile, web, and edge. The team also builds inference on GPU and CPU deployed across most first-party and third-party mobile applications, enabling a broad range of Google products at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Collaborate with the team to develop cross-platform, on-device Machine Learning solutions and deliver positive experiences and product features for YouTube Shorts, Google Meet, Shopping, Photos, Android, Pixel, and more.

• Extend architecture to support new CPUs, DSP, or GPUs.

• Leverage next-generation ODML technology to optimize ML workloads on diverse hardware.

• Productionize generative AI algorithms and drive business use cases for products.

• Partner with cross-functional product and research teams to land innovative ML-enabled features for applications.
