Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Process Development Engineer II- Automation in Tarrytown, New York

We are seeking a highly motivated process and automation development engineer to support the biologics pipeline by designing, developing, implementing, and optimizing Regeneron’s sophisticated biopharmaceutical processes. You will join the Bioreactor Scale-up and Development group within the Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) organization.

As a Process Development Engineer II, A Typical Day Might Look Like:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing software/hardware improvements to existing and new automated equipment

  • Developing automation solutions to streamline process development, improve process control, and enable industry 4.0 applications

  • Using PLCs, HMIs, and other automation tools to provide technical support and solutions to process development labs according to established SOPs and departmental practices

  • Working collaboratively with external partners to author or update system specifications, user and functional requirements specifications, generate and execute factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and (Site Acceptance Testing) SAT protocols

  • Designing and conducting experiments to verify newly automated processes, as well as reporting process efficiency gain

  • Supporting scale up of commercially enabling processes from bench scale to pilot and manufacturing scales

  • Transferring automation technology to GMP manufacturing as necessary

  • Communicating project updates, results, and presentations within the project team and cross-functionally to external departments (senior level management) and authoring technical documents with minimum manager review

  • Consistently and independently incorporating scientific literature and technical documentation to ongoing development

  • As an established subject matter expert in automation, proactively identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to solving complex problems and root-cause analysis

  • Mentoring directly or indirectly by leading, guiding, and assisting peers, co-op students, and interns

In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience/Master's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a degree in engineering or related field. Must have knowledge of bioreactor operations and scale up. Experience using PLCs required. Mammalian cell culture knowledge is preferred. Experience with Rockwell systems and programs is an advantage.

The salary ranges provided are shown in accordance with U.S. law and apply to U.S. based positions, where the hired candidate will be located in the U.S. If you are outside the U.S, please speak with your recruiter about salaries and benefits in your location.

Salary Range (annually)

$90,700.00 - $148,100.00
