Amazon Senior Product Manager, Inbound Transportation in Tempe, Arizona

AIT BizOps is seeking an experienced senior product manager to create and develop supply chain solutions, moving vendor and seller inventory from production to our fulfillment centers. The successful candidate will develop our consolidation capabilities. The single-threaded leader will be required to work with origin partners and operations, service providers, and destination operations to develop products that meet our product and business growth requirements. As part of this role, this person will be responsible for managing costs, providing input and guidelines for short and long-term business planning. A critical component of this role is to work closely with internal partners to leverage and develop solutions that maximize benefit to our customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy capabilities for our transportation and value-add products.

  • Produce a product roadmap with short/medium-term goals and objectives, inclusive of tech deliverables.

  • Responsible for cost and yield management on a regular basis.

  • Develop business requirements for Tech, Procurement, and Operations teams.

  • Manage capability roadmap and scalability plans.

  • Manage product performance in line with product goals.

A day in the life

On a typical day, you will focus on delighting customers with the most optimal supply chain solutions, work consistently with tech partners to develop technical capabilities, define and prioritize the roadmap, and create go-to-market strategies. You will closely collaborate with a team of Amazon software engineers, research scientists, data scientists, and user experience designers to develop new products and features. You will be surrounded by incredibly smart individuals who are passionate about scaling solutions to transport billions of items each year on time. They believe that we have only just begun to tap into our potential in assisting customers worldwide.

About the team

Amazon Inbound Transportation (AIT) is responsible for optimizing cost-effective flow throughout Amazon’s inbound network while providing Amazon with greater control, performance, and inbound visibility. The Business Operations (BizOps) team within AIT is responsible for pricing, cost, growth, speed, and profitability of the inbound business. Our customer is the shipper who utilizes AIT programs (vendors and sellers). Our objective is to execute on time, save shippers money, and offer distinctive features and services to all shippers regardless of size.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

  • Experience owning technology products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

  • Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
