About the Role:
Confluent is seeking a skilled BI Development Manager to oversee the successful delivery of BI/Analytics projects within the GTM Strategy & Operations organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in BI Development, combined with leadership and project management skills. As a BI Development Manager, you will be both responsible for managing a team of BI Developers as well as delivering on your own high-quality project execution.You will work as part of a team that transforms data into information, which serves as the foundation for analytics and insights. You will utilize your strong technical competencies to examine the unique needs and concerns of groups under the Field Sales organization to develop relevant practices and procedures for creating and sharing reports and dashboards across a number of tools. This position will report to the Manager of Sales Strategy & Analytics within the Global Field Strategy & Analytics team.
What You Will Do:
Manage and lead a team of BI Developers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all India-based BI/Analytics matters
Work with the Manager of SSA to ensure that all Analytics projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Perform code reviews to ensure development best practices are followed, code is efficient, and does not negatively impact existing functionality in Tableau and/or other reporting tools
Ensure quality assurance processes are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
Actively foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to identify opportunities for process optimization.
Serve as the thought leader for BI development teams, helping to define and enforce development guidelines and design best practices.
Work cross functionally with other systems teams to ensure that cohesive end-to-end solutions are being delivered.
Create highly usable and thorough Dashboards and Visualizations
Leverage your experience and conceptual knowledge on report/dashboard creation, creating report specifications, UAT & implementation support
Obtain feedback on iterations of the dashboard and work to incorporate feedback through continuous enhancements
Modify and create new data sources using SQL - Strong SQL skills is a must!
Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, and high-performing reporting and dashboards
What You Will Bring:
4+ years of experience in business intelligence and analysis
2+ years of years of experience in a BI Architect, BI Dev Manager, or BI Team Lead role
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining dashboards in Tableau, Tableau Server, Salesforce, Salesforce CRMA
Experience with Sales or Customer Success reporting and analytics
Advanced SQL skills
Proficiency in BI technologies (like Tableau) and Data warehouse (like BigQuery)
Able to build interactive data visualizations, work with business to tease out the best stories to tell from a given dataset
Document projects artifacts and train end-users for better adoption of dashboards/reports
Develop UI mock-ups, storyboards, flow diagrams, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and interactive prototypes.
Knowledge of JIRA or similar sprint planning tools
Experience working with Agile, Lean Kanban development methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and team work.
Strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong desire to learn and apply new technologies to business problems
Growth mindset with the ability to apply constructive feedback to improve themselves and processes around them
Ability to self-train quickly and pick up new skills as necessary
